British Royal Navy HMS Clyde
One of 3 River/Thames class submarines completed for the Royal Navy. Built by Vickers Armstrong, and launched on March 15, 1934. During WW-II she was active in home waters and the Mediterranean, torpedoed the Gneisenau off the Norwegian coast on June 20, 1940, sank two ships in the Mediterranean between 1941 and 1944. Clyde took part in the "magic carpet" supply to besieged Malta in September 1941. She was taken off active service while in the Far East October 1945.
