French first nuclear submarine was the SSBN-Ballistic Missile Submarine Le Redoutable S-609, a lead boat of Le Redoutable class named after her.
Constructed by Cherbourg Naval Dockyards, launched on March 29, 1967 and commissioned in1971. Decommissioned on December 1991.
