British Royal Navy HMS Courageous S-50, SSN-nuclear attack submarine
HMS Courageous is the last of three boats ordered under the Churchill class; built by Vickers Shipbuilding & Engineering Ltd (VSEL), in Barrow,laid down on May 15, 1968; launched on March 7, 1970 and commissioned October 16, 1971.
Courageous served in the Falklands Conflict. She was the first Royal Navy submarine fitted with Sub-Harpoon-SSM sub launched anti-ship missiles. She paid off on April 10, 1992.
