Turkish Navy submarine Sakarya, S-332
On August 23, 1948, USS Boarfish SS-327, a Balao class submarine, was transferred on loan under the Military Assistance Program to Turkey to serve the Turkish Navy as Sakarya S-332.
TCG Sakarya was decommissioned from the Turkish Navy on December 12, 1975 and returned to US control were she was sold for scrapping.
USS Boarfish was laid by the Electric Boat Company, Groton, CT, August 12, 1943;
launched on May 21, 1944 and commissioned on September 23, 1944.
Decommissioned on May 21, 1948; Struck from the navy list and sold to Turkey August 23, 1948; returned to US control and sold for scrapping.
