Kriegsmarine U-236
The U-236, a German attack U-boat Type VIIC, was laid down by Germaniawerft, Kiel, on March 23, 1942; and commissioned on January 9, 1943.
U-236 had no war patrols; she was kept busy as a training submarine for new U-boat crews.
She was damaged by British aircrafts bombs, Squadrons No.236 & 254, on May 4, 1945, surrendered to a British submarine and scuttled by her own crew on May 5, 1945 near Schleimünde, north of Kiel, in position 54.37N, 10.03E.
